Ann Curry

Ann Curry has worked as an journalist for over more than 45 years. Her focus is on natural disasters as well as war zones. Curry has written about the conflict zones of Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo and the Central African Republic. Ann Curry (born on November 19th, 1956 in the city of Agana) is an American TV anchor, reporter and journalist. She was most famous for her work as a reporter on The Today Show, a morning newscast produced by the National Broadcasting Co. Curry was well-known for the reporting she did about natural disasters as well as war devastated countries. Curry's mother is Japanese as is her father, who was an American Navy Sailor. Curry's parents were married in Japan which is where her father had been stationed following World War II. Her father was in the military, so her family had to move around a lot. Curry went to high school in Ashland, Oregon. She earned a journalism certificate at the University of Oregon in 1978. The exposure she received to different cultures and environments during her growing up years is likely to have influenced the compassion that she has for global issues. Ann Curry has been a well-known American journalist since the beginning of the 1990s. She is currently NBC's news anchor. Check out her biography to know more about this famous woman. They moved frequently, so Curry didn't stay in the same school for over two years traveling to various areas such as San Diego Alameda Oregon and Virginia. Ashland was her last high school. In Medford, she started her broadcasting career with KTVL Channel 10 as an intern. at the age of 22 she was the first reporter to be female at KTVL. She then moved up to anchoring and reporting for KGW which is an affiliate of NBC in Portland. After moving to Los Angeles, she became an anchor and reporter for KCBS TV within four years of moving to the city. It was during her time with the station for 6 years that she was awarded the two Emmy Awards.
